Scripture:Romans 3:23, Leviticus 17:11 (Hebrews 9:22), Romans 5:8, John 3:16, 1 John 1:9
Questions:Today is a little different than usual. THIS IS STEP ONE!
Romans 3:23 says - "all have sinned" - said, thought, and done things that do not please God.
Leviticus 17:11 is the Old Testament law that says that without the shedding of blood there is not forgiveness.
Romans 5:8 says, "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us".
SOOO - Jesus was our ULTIMATE, final, perfect sacrifice. His blood was shed to pay the penalty for our sin.
John 3:16 says He did this because of His GREAT love for us, and if we "believe" we will inherit eternal life.
1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins, God will FORGIVE us and purify us.
Application:If you want the living water to dwell within you so that you can "Outflow" to those around you, then you can have it!
If you believe the scriptures listed above and would like to receive Christ as your Savior, you can pray something
like this… Dear God, I recognize that I am a sinner. I have done, said, and thought things that do not please you.
Please forgive me. I know that you love me and shed your blood on the cross so that I may have eternal life. Please
come into my life and lead and guide me each day. Help me to make choices that please you, and help to grow your
kingdom and purposes. Thank you for dying for me. Amen.
If you just prayed that prayer, WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM!! Now the journey begins!!
Scripture:1 Timothy 4:1-12
Questions:*Do you recognize that there are people who are trying to deceive you to turn against God and His Truth?
*Have you ever realized you need to "train yourself to be godly?"
*Where will you receive the benefits of godly training? (Verse 8)
*Have you ever felt "unusable" or "looked down upon because you are young?
*How are you to set an example to others?
Application:*Open your eyes today. Become an "investigator" and find at least one way that someone or something is trying
to deceive you. For example… Maybe you are being taught evolution in Biology class. Evolution is NOT TRUE. It
is a deception that the God of this age (Satan) is trying to make you believe. God is the creator and maker of all.
Write it down. You may be surprised at your list at the end of the day. Sometimes we go through the day with our
brains on "auto pilot". When we are being aware, we may be surprised at all the deceptions we are being told.
Scripture:1 Corinthians 10:12-13
Questions:*Does it surprise you that the temptations you face are common and faced by many? Does that make them seem
more conquerable, knowing others have faced them? Sometimes Satan wants us to think we are the only one to ever face temptation. But you ARE NOT alone.
*Did you know God allows you to be tempted? Why do you think He allows that?
*How does knowing God will ALWAYS provide a way out for you help you when facing a temptation?
Application:Identify an area of life where you struggle with temptation. What is it? Write it down. Confess it and ask God to
show you His way out for you from this temptation.
Scripture:1 Corinthians 3:9-17
Questions:*Is your foundation Jesus Christ? How are you building on top of that foundation?
*Did you ever think about how you spend your life on earth is earning you a reward in heaven?
*Are you building with the "world's" materials, fame, money, power, SELF - that will all be burned up in the fire?
*Or are you building with God's tools - love, faith, trust, mercy , OTHERS- that will survive the fire and earn rewards?
*Note - everyone who's foundation is Jesus will survive the fire, but those who build with the "world's" materials
will ONLY survive, no reward for the life they led. What is your desire - just surviving or bountiful blessing? U Choose!
*What does verse 16 mean to you?
Application:*Today you will be "observing yourself". What materials are you building with? Choose one of God's tools
or materials and try to use it today. For example, if you normally think only about what your daily schedule is, think
about a member of your family's schedule today and try to do something to bless them ... cook dinner, sweep the
floors, fold a load of laundry, feed the animals… do a job that isn't normally yours, just to be a blessing!
Questions:*How do you offer your body as a living sacrifice? Can you think of a way you do that?
*What is the pattern of this world? Think about this for a minute. AWARENESS is so important!!
*How do you renew your mind?
Application:*Is there an area of your life that you need to "sacrifice" or lay aside because it is pulling you away from Jesus? Today,
take steps in that direction. Maybe you have gotten caught up in using bad language, but you know it does not please
God. Maybe you have been cheating on homework or tests, but you know you need to stop. Maybe you have been
thinking thoughts that you know are seperating you from God. Choose today to stop. Take the first steps in that
direction. YOU CAN DO IT, God will help you. Hebrews 13:6
Questions:*What is unwholesome talk? Is it swearing, or is it more than that?
*Do your words build others up, or tear them down?
*Did you know your words could grieve the Holy Spirit of God? Does knowing that help you in this area?
Application:This is a tough one for us! We have opinions and feel the need to express them. BUT - read the Word and OBEY it!
If what is coming out of your mouth is not helpful for building someone up, or benefitting those who are listening,
DON'T SAY IT!! Start training yourself! Today, stop yourself! If you start to say something that you shouldn't, say
something beneficial instead. If someone else is saying something negative about someone else, why not add
something positive about the person or circumstance instead of adding more unwholesome words? You may be
surprised how your positive comments can change a conversation for the better!
