In less than a month, on June 11th, Gerald and Pat Weaver will celebrate their 60th Wedding anniversary!
As many of you know, they have had a really rough year with having to leave their home and move into a nursing care facility near Pittsburgh. While they are in the same facility and are receiving the care they need physically, their lives have been turned upside down and they no longer have the luxury of daily visits from family and friends or of independence. Very often, this type of isolation can wreak havoc on a person’s emotional health. Sometimes they feel forgotten and cast away, even if that is not true.
So, on this special date, let’s all do what we can to bust that myth and remind Gerald and Pat that they are not forgotten, nor cast off and are still very important to our congregation and community.
They can’t come to you, but you might be able to go to them or at the very least send them a greeting card.
